About Brazil
The Brazilian Embassy
SIL in Brazil works with indigenous languages. Part of our work is the publication of technical material in the areas of linguistics and related fields. One purpose of this web site is to make available these publications for everyone. Consult our web site frequently to see new material added.
On this page our objective is to list articles by researchers who are not SIL members, but who research indigenous languages of Brazil. We hope to thus serve the scentific community, stimulating dialogue between researchers. These articles have not necessarily gone through the SIL editorial process, and because of this SIL does not take responsibility for their content. Each article includes the email address of the author, and we hope that other researchers will read them and send comments to the authors. The authors are free to revise their articles and send corrected versions to this web site, and they will be replaced. Authors are also free to ask that their articles be removed, for example, when they wish to publish their works somewhere else.
Papers published on this site are intended for scholarly research and educational use. You may make copies of these papers for research or educational purposes free of charge and without further permission. Republication or commercial use of these papers is expressly prohibited without the written consent of the copyright holder(s).
Here follow the publications and papers available on this site in PDF format. The list is divided into the following sections; Anthropology, Dictionaries and Grammars and Linguistics.
